Criminal Justice and Homeland Security

Maintaining the safety and security of citizens is one of the highest priorities in society. Criminal justice professionals perform a valuable service for our communities and nation. At no time in this nation’s history has there been a greater need for qualified, well-educated and dedicated criminal justice professionals.

The Cisco College Criminal Justice Program prepares students to work in a variety of settings including positions as police officers, probation officers, parole officers, crime laboratory specialists, criminologists, customs officials, correctional officers, public and private investigators, and research and planning analysts.

Cisco College provides students with a basic understanding of the parts of the criminal justice system as well as expanded knowledge in specialized fields of study. Students who successfully complete the eight criminal justice courses and the requirements of the AAS will earn a degree. Students may also earn a level one certificate or a certificate in Homeland
Security.

Application Procedure
To be considered for admission to the Criminal Justice program, interested persons should:

  1. Complete application to the college
  2. Contact Gene Keesee, division chair.
  3. Admission Requirements
    Applicants for admission to this program must fulfill the general requirements for admission to the College. The procedure for seeking admission to the College follows: 
  4. Complete the Cisco College application 
  5. Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  6. Talk to a counselor about testing
  7. Attend CARGO

Prospective students should also remember that acceptance by Cisco College does not guarantee admission into specific occupational programs. Additional factors considered for admission may be a satisfactory record in high school or college, placement tests and other criteria.
