Thanks for visiting the C5 webpage. We’ll be adding more materials in the months to come, but if you don’t see something you need or want to know, please let Debra Slaton know. We hope to see you in May!

What is C5?

C5 stands for Cisco College Core Curriculum Conference. This will be a conference for teachers to help fill the “teacher toolbox” with techniques, ideas, and strategies to aid pedagogical shifts in anticipation of the “new” core curriculum.

When is it?

May 21-23, 2013

Who’s invited?

Anyone who teaches lower division courses in the state of Texas! Faculty from two-year and four-year institutions are welcome.

How helpful will this be?

Very! The conference emphasizes practicality and cost sensitivity in all of its presentations, so there should be something for everyone, regardless of the size of your budget. A conference agenda will be posted soon.

What if I have something to share?

Please do! email debra.slaton@cisco.edu for the CFP; deadline for submissions is March 22, 2013.

How much does it cost?

Registration is $150 for the entire conference. This price includes some meals during the conference and the pre-conference institutes. If you are attending only the pre-conference institutes, the cost is $50.

What else is there to do in Abilene (if I bring my family with me)?

Plenty! In addition to wonderful antique shopping and viewing multiple historical buildings in town there are loads of shopping, multiple movie complexes, and other diversions (bowling, go-carts, miniature golf – you name it!).

Where will I stay?

the McM Elegante is the conference hotel.  Mention the C5 to get the conf rate.  325-698-1234
