Football Coaching Staff
Dionte Dean, of Lancaster, Texas, joined Cisco College during the Spring 2011 football season after spending the past 2 seasons at East Central University in Oklahoma where he coached the defensive backs. Dean also played football at ECU as a defensive back during the 2007 & 2008 season and was named Lonestar All-Conference in 2008. He was a transfer player to ECU from Tyler Junior College where he was considered a top defensive player during both seasons with TJC.
Head Football Coach
Dean earned both his Bachelor's and Masters while at ECU. This will be his first year as head coach for the Wranglers.
Defensive Coordinator / Defensive Backs
Kurt Nichols begins his 31st year coaching with 29 years of experience at the college level. Nichols spent the previous 4 years at Blinn after previously coaching at Trinity High School, Cisco College, Ranger College, East Central University, Tarleton State University, and many more. Nichols is a native of Tyler, Tx. He played high school football at John Tyler High School and played college ball at University of Tulsa where he was team captain his senior year. Nichols has a master's in Education from Southwest Baptist University and a bachelor's in Graphic Design from Jacksonville State University. He has one son, Ross and one daughter, Ali.
Tim Smith of Lancaster, Texas joined Cisco College in the fall of 2013 after spending 1 season at Blinn College as the wide receiver coach. Coach Smith played wide receiver at Prairie View A&M University from 2006-2008. He began his coaching career as a graduated assistant for Prairie View A&M University from 2009-2011. Coach Smith is a graduate of Prairie View A&M University with a bachelor's degree in History and will finish his master's degree in Reading Education in August 2014.
